THE ALLURE OF LONDON…

  • If this is your first time in London and you only have one full day to explore the city you should look no further than our Essentially London Day.

A typical day starts with a guided tour of Westminster Abbey, the Royal Church where, from 1066, Kings and Queens of England have been crowned, were married and are buried. Most recently it was the spectacular focus for the Coronation of King Charles III.

We will then walk through St James’s Park, one of London’s prettiest parks, and arrive outside Buckingham Palace where we will watch the Changing of the Guard, one of London’s most enduring military spectacles – no tour of London is complete without seeing it!

In the afternoon we will visit London’s fortress: the Tower of London housing the famous Crown Jewels.

Walking is the best way to get up and close and personal with London; we also like to use public transportation including the iconic London double decker buses and London Taxis to give you a 360 degrees London experience!

If you have more time, get in touch and we will put together an itinerary to cover more of the many London “must-see” attractions.

  • If you are ready to delve deeper you can choose a themed tour:

Do you want to walk in the footsteps of Shakespeare or Charles Dickens or…. follow the trail of London’s most notorious serial killer Jack the Ripper?

Let us take you back to the 60s and evoke those Rock ’n Roll years when the Beatles reimagined popular music and became the legend we all know and a humble pedestrian crossing in north west London became one of the world’s most photographed locations.

You may want to learn more about Winston Churchill and visit the secret headquarters of the British Government during WWII and learn all about life in London during the last world conflict.

If the legal profession interests you, why not let us introduce you to a hidden and charming neighbourhood - home to four ancient legal societies, beautiful medieval buildings, hidden gardens and old chapels; barristers, solicitors – what’s the difference and why do they still wear wigs in court?

Maybe you’d like to explore London’s Theatreland and go ‘Behind the Scenes’ at the Royal Opera House or walk around the fashionable exclusive tailors of St. James’s and Mayfair or explore Jewish London, or you may want to hang out with cool crowds in the East End and see the amazing street art that makes this an open air art gallery.

Why not explore London through the many movies filmed here: James Bond 007, Paddington Bear, Mary Poppins, Sherlock Holmes and those blockbuster movies telling the story of a certain young wizard that shaped a few generations and had us all believe in magic?

Then there is Greenwich down along the river in south east London: here you will discover maritime London and the quest for longitude and you can stand on the prime meridian and enjoy some stunning views of London.

Or you may like to venture to Hampstead, a leafy suburb in the middle of 800 acres of woodland and get a taste of a London village, explore Kensington and Chelsea, Notting Hill, Camden, Little Venice and more…

There is a London for everyone!

  • London has some of the world’s greatest museums and galleries.

Let us take you on a highlights tour of some of the collections or, if you have a special interest, we can offer a themed tour in any of these wonderful museums: the most famous is the British Museum, one of the world’s oldest museums - here you will find the “Rosetta Stone”.

If art is your passion, there is much to choose from: the National Gallery home of one of western Europe’s great art collections; the impressive Tate Modern housed in a former power station on the banks of the river Thames; the smaller more intimate collections of the Wallace or the Courtauld Gallery amongst others.

Or perhaps you’d like us to take you on a bespoke tour of the many private contemporary art galleries showcasing current work by living artists – with a view to making an investment!

The Natural History Museum contains, inter alia, specimens found by Charles Darwin himself; the Science Museum where some of the oldest steam engines that sparked the industrial revolution are on display; and then there’s the Victoria and Albert, the world’s largest museum of decorative arts and design.

Pick one! Or more and let us take you on a journey of discovery!
