So much to see and so little time!
Here is a selection of our favourite one-day trips from London to inspire you:
A day out to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle combines a visit to one of the most famous pre-historic monuments in the world and a tour around the lavish and stunning Royal palace inhabited by the monarchy during its 1000-year history and final resting place of Queen Elizabeth II.
Why not go to the beautiful city of Bath? Once a thriving centre of Roman Britain, with the magnificent Roman Baths complex surrounded by stunning Georgian architecture in the country, Bath is truly deserving of its UNESCO designation.
If you are feeling scholarly let’s travel to the city of Oxford or Cambridge. Revel in all that history, enjoy fantastic cityscapes and architecture, learn about those clever minds who studied here - and go punting on the river.
What about a day out in the beautiful Cotswolds? With 800 square miles of rolling hills, gardens, churches, chocolate box villages, limestone houses and cottages you step right into the fairy tale in areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Or you may like to head south to the beautiful county of Kent - “the Garden of England” - to lovely Hever or Leeds castle – both associated with Queens of England - and combine it with tour of a vineyard, or enjoy oysters in Margate.
If WWII is your bag, why not visit Bletchley Park? This was the top-secret base of the mathematicians who broke the Enigma codes contributing to the Allied victory in 1945, or visit the much loved country home of Winston Churchill and his family.

Grand stately homes with rolling parklands of shady oak and beech; classical landscapes with lakes, grottoes and temples to ancient gods; intimate personal spaces with paths spilling over with peony, lavender and geranium; intoxicating scent of old English roses scrambling over arches, pillars and arbors; warm old brick walls speeding the ripening fruit of espaliered plum, apple or pear; creaking Victorian glasshouses of sweet apricot and strawberry; serried ranks of leek and cabbage. With more than 3000 gardens open to the public, England truly is a garden and the English a nation of gardeners.
Let us lead you down the garden path with a very personalised garden tour!
